Filming our preliminary task and Preparing again

Filming our preliminary task came with many difficulties and has given me great experience/knowledge on how to do a better job when it comes to my real film. When we got to 'The Swan' to start filming we noticed that the tripod was broken and could not clip to the camera, this meant that we would have to film without the tripod causing our footage to be shaky. Our camera was also playing up as it would decide to go out of focus during shots, these problems caused our footage to be unusable and so we are going to have to film again at a different setting and with a different actor.

I have posted a video of behind the scenes during our shoot underneath, the video was filmed by all of us and edited by Amir:

Since we have decided not to use the footage from our previous shoot I changed the script/story slightly and went looking for a new setting. I also had to find a new actor as one of actors couldn't do it again.

I found another actor (Michael Scorer) as he is a friend of mine and fits into the image I had of the character. Zoe and I walked into town to find a suitable setting for the second shooting of our task. I gave the letter that we had written to a cafe which gave the correct atmosphere/setting that we were hoping for, with permission to film we set off writing a script.

Here are some pictures of the setting we chose:

I chose the setting as it gives a realistic feel which contrasts with the not so everyday plot.
Filming went well and I managed to shoot a number of shots which we have edited into our preliminary.

Here is a video of our preliminary task:

We used sub titles and cropped the frame so that you can only see the bottom half of the characters faces to disguise the actors voices and create a more tense atmosphere. We do not have any music as finding the correct music for this task was difficult and the tool we are using to make the music (Garage Band) has insufficient music on, making it difficult to find the best music to relate to our story and create the right effect.
